Rebecca Protten (1718–1780) was a formerly enslaved Afro-Caribbean woman who became a pioneering Moravian missionary and evangelist—spreading Christianity to enslaved Africans in the Caribbean and Europe. She is considered an early advocate for Black Christian ministry and one of the first known Black female missionaries.
